We try to collect as little personal information as possible. We currently collect and process the following information:
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you.
We store your email address so that we can verify you're a real human, not a bot. We also need it so we can send you a password reset email if you forget your password.
We also receive personal information (the name of the recipe author) indirectly, from recipe websites that you have chosen to bookmark. We use this information to show you other recipes you've bookmarked from that same author.
If savetomoon.com were acquired, the information we store would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: your consent (you are able to remove your consent at any time - you can contact us at [email protected]), and because we have a legitimate interest.
Your information is securely stored in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) database. Your chosen password is encrypted - although to be safe, we always recommend not reusing passwords, and to use a unique password when accessing Moon.
We keep your email address and basic activity data for a maximum of 1 month after you request to close your account. We will then dispose of your information by permanently removing it from our databases.
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a complaint to us at [email protected].
You can also complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we have used your data.
